Abstract
Despite of the declining incidence of the tuberculosis since the introduction of streptomycine, isoniazid (INH) and para-aminosalicylic acid (PAS), the tuberculous disease has continued here yet and yielded many social problems. around the world even in the United States("). Especially it is one of the most important and serious social public health problem in Korea.
Tuberculous lesion of the central nervous system (C.N.S.) was usually secondary(1,7,8,9) but the incidence of secondary involvement of it from the primary focus was not clear even in the literatures. But average 50 to 75% of cases of tuberculosis involving the C.N.S. have a tuberculous lesion of other organ or a history of contact1,4,5,10)
Tuberculous lesion involving the C.N.S. was more serious with relative highmortality1,3,7,8,11)
Many workers and reporters enforced the significant roles of antituberculous, triple therapy and steroids, especially for the case of tuberculosis affecting the: C.N.S1,2,5,8,9)
We are also going to claim the significancy of the triple drugs and the steroids under the basis of recent experiences with three cases of tuberculosis; tuberculous spinal leptomeningitis and transverse-myelitis, tuberculous meningitis, complicated with hydrocephalus and ophthalmoplegia, and one case of intracere-bral tuberculoma.
This article contains one report of case of intracerebral tuberculoma.
